This is a fun fall craft for children with autism. First, you will need three strips of paper 6 inches by two inches. Next, cut out blue for the sky, white for the middle and green for the grass. Then, have your student tape all three strips together on the back. Next, have your student punch out some birds for the sky with a craft punch, and punch out colorful leaves for the grass. Next, have your student glue the birds in the sky and glue the leaves on the grass. Finally, have your student type out the words Welcome Fall, and glue on the middle strip.
After the picture is finished, have your student to describe the fall picture. The blue and yellow birds are in the sky, and the brown, orange, yellow and green leaves are on the grass. Ask your student whether it feels cool or hot in the fall. Enjoy this art and the expressive language activity.
